Loan-to-Value Ratio (LTV)

The ratio of the mortgage amount to the property's appraised value, expressed as a percentage. An $320,000 loan on a $400,000 home is 80% LTV. Lower LTV means less risk for lenders and may qualify for better rates or no PMI.
